Who is Rick Green anyway?

In his own words...rick

I’m just an ordinary person.  A lot like you! "

The main difference is that I've already done what you are dreaming of doing:  I have sold my idea for a reality TV series.

Let me tell you how that came about.

MY STORY

I have worked in the media and entertainment industry for many years as a cameraman.  I shoot the video you see on television. This might sound like it would give me an edge into the creative side of the industry – not so, as you will see!

As I worked on various types of programs, I started having ideas for reality television shows and specials.  One in particular, The Treasure Hunter, seemed to have a lot of promise.

I was close enough to the industry to know that it was possible for me to get a show like this on the air, but I didn't know how to go about it. You see, the entertainment industry is very specialized and people in one type of job don't always consider input from those in other jobs.  Roughly translated, producers don't necessarily pay attention to creative ideas from their crew!

I knew I would have to learn to approach producers on a different level, as one creative person to another. So, I asked around until I finally connected with someone who knew the process and had the right contacts.

Then I started learning.

It took months.  I learned how to write a proposal that gets attention, how to make a pitch, how to find the right people to present it to. Eventually, I found myself pitching The Treasure Hunter to a company producing shows for a major cable network.

And guess what?  They were looking for just that sort of show. We made a deal and now the show (under a new name, Collector Inspector) is in its third season. And it has generated over $3.5 million in production budget!

It took me awhile to learn what to do and how to do it, and now I'd like to share it all with you so that you can do the same thing. Everything it took me months to learn will be laid out for you.”
